Puddings Recipes - Pear Ginger Crumble Recipe

Ingredients

SERVES 4

  • 4 pears (peeled, cored and sliced)

  • 25ml/1fl oz apple juice

  • 100g/4oz plain flour

  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger

  • 50g/2oz butter

  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar (plus extra for sprinkling)


Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C/375°F/Gas mark 5.

  2. Place the pears in a 1.2 liter/2pt ovenproof serving dish with the apple juice.

  3. Sift the flour and ginger into a bowl, then rub in the butter and stir in the sugar.

  4. Spoon this mixture over the pears and press down lightly. Sprinkle with a little extra sugar.

  5. Bake for 45 minutes until golden. Serve hot.
