Puddings Recipes - Pear and blackberry Crumble Recipe

Ingredients

SERVES 6

  • 450g/1lb pears (peeled, cored and cut into chunks)

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • 225g/8oz caster sugar

  • 1 teaspoon ground mixed spice

  • 450g/1lb blackberries

  • 100g/4oz butter (chopped, plus extra for greasing)

  • 225g/8oz plain flour

  • 75g/3oz ground almonds


Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas mark 6. Grease a 1.8 liter/3 1/4pt shallow dish.

  2. Put the pear pieces in a bowl, add the lemon juice and toss well. Add 100g/4oz sugar to the sliced pears, along with the ground mixed spice.

  3. Add in the blackberries and toss thoroughly to coat with sugar and spice. Tip the mixture into the prepared greased dish.

  4. Put the butter, flour, almonds and the remaining sugar into a blender or food processor and pulse until the mixture begins to look like breadcrumbs.

  5. Scatter the crumble topping evenly over the fruit, then bake for 35 to 45 minutes until the crumble is golden.
