Desserts Recipes - Traditional Flapjacks Recipe

Ingredients

SERVES 12

  • 25g/1oz golden syrup

  • 50g/2oz caster sugar

  • 75g/3oz butter

  • 175g/6oz oats


Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 170°C/325°F/Gas mark 3.

  2. Melt the syrup, sugar and butter together in a heavy-based pan. Remove from the heat.

  3. Stir in the oats and mix well. Press the mixture firmly into a shallow, greased tin and place in the oven for about 35 minutes.

  4. Leave to cool and then cut into generous portions while still warm.
