Desserts Recipes - Black and White Chocolate Brownies Recipe

Ingredients

SERVES 12

  • 50g/2oz dark chocolate, broken into pieces

  • 175g/6oz butter, cubed

  • 50g/2oz white chocolate, broken into pieces

  • 4 eggs

  • 275g/10oz demerara sugar

  • 175g/6oz plain flour, sifted

  • 125ml/4fl oz sour cream


Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C/325°F/Gas mark 3. Line a 28 x 18cm/11 x 7in shallow baking tin with baking parchment.

  2. Melt the dark chocolate with 75g/3oz butter over a gentle heat then allow the mixture to cool slightly. Melt the white chocolate with the remaining butter and leave to cool.

  3. Beat the eggs with the sugar until light and fluffy and divide between 2 bowls.

  4. Stir in the dark chocolate into one bowl and the white chocolate into the other.

  5. Carefully fold half the flour and then half the sour cream into each bowl.

  6. Place alternate spoonfuls of the mixture into the prepared tin and then lightly stir to give a marbled effect.

  7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until firm to the touch. Leave to cool before carefully turning out and cutting into squares.
